Frequently Asked Questions

How does the pricing work?

Your initial consultation is free. If we accept your case, we charge $199 for a complete total-loss valuation report plus up to 2 hours of research and negotiation at $149/hour. We pre-authorize your card after we've reviewed your case — no upfront payment.

What if you can't increase my settlement?

Our clients average $3,200 in additional settlement value, and we screen every case before accepting it: we only proceed when we believe we can secure at least $1,000 more than your insurer's offer. In the rare case we accept your claim and ultimately can't deliver that $1,000 minimum, you pay nothing.

Why is the price split into three components?

We bundle a complete service: a free preliminary read on whether we can help, a thorough valuation report, and the research-and-negotiation work that actually moves your settlement. Showing each component separately keeps the pricing transparent — you see exactly what you're paying for and why.

How long does the total-loss appraisal take?

Our standard turnaround for the valuation report is 48 hours from the time you submit your insurance company's report and vehicle details. Negotiation timelines depend on your insurer's responsiveness — most settlements close within 1-3 weeks of report delivery.

Are you affiliated with my insurance company?

No. SecondAppraisal is an independent vehicle appraisal consultancy. We act solely on behalf of our clients (the policyholders), not the insurer.
