Program Overview
SecondAppraisal Inc. (“SecondAppraisal”) is a vehicle valuation consulting service that helps vehicle owners negotiate fair settlements with insurance companies. We send SMS text messages to users who have explicitly opted in, for the following purposes:
- Verification codes — One-time passwords (OTP) for account login and identity verification
- Consultation status updates — Notifications about your appraisal consultation progress
- Photo upload links — Secure links to upload vehicle photos for your consultation
- Support & reminders — Helpful reminders and customer support communications
How Users Opt In to Receive SMS Messages
Users must take explicit action to consent to receiving SMS messages. Consent is never implied, assumed, or pre-selected. The process works as follows:
User visits SecondAppraisal and starts a consultation
The user navigates to https://secondappraisal.com and clicks “Get Started” or “Start Your Consultation” to begin the consultation wizard.
User enters their phone number
During the contact information step of the consultation wizard, the user provides their phone number. Providing a phone number alone does not constitute consent.
User voluntarily checks the SMS consent checkbox
A clearly labeled consent checkbox appears (shown below). The checkbox is not pre-checked. The user may choose to check the box to grant consent. Checking the box is optional — users can proceed with the consultation without opting in to SMS.
Confirmation SMS sent & consent timestamped
Upon opting in, a confirmation SMS is sent immediately to the user's phone. The opt-in consent is recorded with a timestamp in our database before any further SMS messages are sent.

The checkbox below is an exact replica of what users see during the consultation wizard. It is not pre-checked. Checking is voluntary — users may proceed without opting in.

How to Opt Out
You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:
- Reply STOP to any message from SecondAppraisal (also accepts: STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT)
- Reply HELP for assistance and support information
- Update your SMS preferences in your account settings at https://secondappraisal.com
- Email us at support@secondappraisal.com
After opting out, you will receive one confirmation message and no further texts. You may opt back in at any time by texting START or by re-checking the consent box in your account settings.
